Jasmin Holding Newborns

Jasmin Kanevski, LM, CPM, MBA

I resides in Boyd, Texas, embraced by the love of a close-knit family. Robert, my husband, is my rock and steadfast support. Our greatest joys come from our remarkable children and their loving partners: Shai and James, Sydney and Clayton, Allison and Michael, Storie, Terran, Braden, and Caitlyn. And our lives are further enriched by our beloved grandchildren: Caroline, Carson, Casen, Bryar, Casen, and Kymber, who bring endless delight. (Yes we have two Casens)

Education has always been a cornerstone of my journey. I hold a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of North Texas, complemented by a Montessori Certification. Building upon this foundation, I pursued and earned a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Liverpool.

Since 1998, I've dedicated myself to supporting families as a doula and childbirth educator. My midwifery education through the Association of Texas Midwives Midwifery Training Program led me to become a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) licensed in the State of Texas, a journey I embarked upon in 2004 and resumed in 2017 after a brief hiatus to homeschool my children from 2008 to 2017.

Throughout my career, I've been privileged to attend over 400 births across hospitals, birth centers, and homes throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth Metro area. Each birth is a unique chapter in my journey, enriching my ability to provide evidence-based information and compassionate support to families navigating pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care.

My personal birthing experiences have deeply influenced my approach. From attending my brother’s birth at a midwives' home in 1976 to witnessing the unexpected arrival of my sister in 1978, I've seen firsthand the profound impact of supportive care during labor. My own births further ignited my passion, culminating in transformative home births attended by skilled midwives Allison Ratliff and Jane Gandy.

At the core of my philosophy is empowering women with the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions aligned with their unique needs and beliefs. I believe in the innate strength of women's bodies and the importance of providing unwavering support throughout their birthing journeys.

“It’s not just the making of babies, but the making of mothers that midwives see as the miracle of birth.” ~Barbara Katz Rothman
